About The Position

Internship Program: Blount’s Internship Program aims to grow students from our community in a way that is mutually beneficial by providing experiential learning opportunities and connecting concepts learned in the classroom to real-world applications in order to contribute to the professional readiness of tomorrow’s workforce. Interns can expect timely feedback, accessible supervisors, bi-weekly meetings with the internship program lead, assistance with career readiness, and networking opportunities. Job Summary The Training & Development intern will support the T&D department in the preparation and execution of various corporate training and development programs. Preparation includes tasks such as scheduling, ordering food and supplies, preparing materials, and setting up training space. Execution includes attendance to events and coordination of agenda. In the event of an absence, position will be filled by trained personnel.

  • Degree (B.A. or B.S.) candidate from College or University or related experience; or equivalent combination of both education and experience.
  • This position requires the ability to travel, pre-employment and screening of Motor Vehicle Record every two years and personal automobile insurance coverage in accordance with the Blount Fine Foods Employee Handbook.

  • Preference for degrees in the fields of Training & Development, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Adult Learning, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with employees to help coordinate events
  • Researches information for course creation (Momentum training series)
  • Uses instructional design models to support team with departmental projects
  • Collects and analyzes survey result data
  • Attends training events with a supportive role
  • Sets up training space for training and meetings
  • Prepares materials for training sessions
  • Orders and/or picks up food and supplies for trainings and events
  • Attends meetings, takes notes, and distributes meeting minutes
  • Creates various charts and forms and types documents for others as requested
  • Other responsibilities with similar skills, work conditions, and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Responsible for completing required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.
  • Must adhere to all corporate GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and all Food and Employee Safety policies.
  • Must adhere to all Allergen control programs and procedures as applicable.
  • Responsible for reporting suspicious packages, activities, and individuals.
  • If monitoring CCPs (Critical Control Points), must be trained in HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and adhere to approved HACCP plan(s).
