About The Position

What is a Gas Transmission & Distribution Planner? The Gas Transmission & Distribution Planner is responsible for assisting with the planning, scheduling, evaluation, prioritization, and coordination of the construction, operation, and maintenance of gas transmission and distribution facilities. What does a Gas Transmission & Distribution Planner do? Assists in the development of monthly and weekly work plans, monitor the progress of projects to ensure the successful completion within the established timeframes and budget. Works with the Gas Supervisors to ensure that all work orders are reviewed prior to starting work to determine if they can be completed within the estimate and established time frame and also upon completion of work to ensure that all requirements have been met. Audits records associated with construction, inspection and maintenance activities of those personnel and contractors engaged in the company’s natural gas operations. Promotes and maintains a safe workplace for employees, contractors, and the general public to drive injuries and accidents to zero. Provides managerial control and coordination through leadership to fulfill organizational goals and objectives, control and monitor costs and productivity and ensure the appropriate use of corporate assets. Provides analytical support to deliver performance feedback to the management team. Performs financial analysis and delivers written reports to the management team on projects at the conceptual and post installation stages Communicates effectively with customers by phone, in writing, or in person regarding construction, operations, and maintenance. Maintains the bigger picture vision and be able to assist when called upon to provide the leadership necessary to ensure that his/her work group objectives and results stay aligned with Division and Corporate objectives. Responds to emergencies outside of normal work hours as required. What does it take to become a Gas Transmission & Distribution Planner? Required: Associates degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. In lieu of an associates degree, a High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of related experience such as Engineering, Planning, Scheduling, Project Management, or Accounting Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and demonstrated ability to learn new software programs quickly Excellent analytical, project management and evaluation skills Strong problem-solving ability, basic mechanical and math skills, and attention to detail Ability to multitask and operate under pressure in a fast-paced work environment; proactive and flexible in handling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills to ensure that necessary documents are accurately maintained Strong verbal and written communication skills; communicates in a clear and concise manner Self-motivated team player Valid driver’s license Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Requirements

  • Associates degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. In lieu of an associates degree, a High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of related experience such as Engineering, Planning, Scheduling, Project Management, or Accounting
