The System Test Engineer plays a critical role in validating AEye’s LiDAR systems and ensuring end-to-end functionality across hardware, firmware, and software components. You will design, execute, and automate system-level tests to guarantee performance, reliability, and compliance with requirements. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • System-Level Testing:
  • Develop and execute test plans for integrated LiDAR systems, including hardware, embedded software, point cloud algorithms and end-to-end pipeline.
  • Validate system performance under various environmental and operational conditions.
  • Automation & Tools:
  • Create automated test scripts and frameworks for regression and performance testing.
  • Utilize tools such as Python, C++, and CI/CD pipelines for test automation.
  • Requirements & Traceability:
  • Ensure test coverage aligns with system requirements and architecture.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results in Jira/Confluence.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze large datasets from LiDAR sensors to identify anomalies and performance trends.
  • Provide clear, actionable reports to engineering and program teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with System, Software, Algorithm, and Calibration teams to resolve issues.
  • Support root cause analysis and structured problem-solving for system-level defects.
  • Ability to analyze point cloud data with system-level understanding for accelerated troubleshooting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Python or strong understanding of general programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments, Jira, and version control tools (Bitbucket, GitHub).
  • Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting to multi-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate across software, hardware, and firmware disciplines.
  • Ability to lift or carry items up to 50lbs.
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Previous experience with LiDAR systems.
  • Knowledge of C++.
  • Exposure to optoelectronics and MEMS technologies.
  • Experience working in fast-paced and demanding environments.
