We are looking for a Systems Test Engineer at our Raleigh, NC location that will debug software products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for Itron products. This candidate will help develop, modify, and execute software test plans. Duties & Responsibilities: Development of software test plans, test designs, test objectives, and test cases. Identify, analyze and document defects, questionable behavior, errors and inconsistencies with application functionality, output, online screens and content. Development of automated test solutions using software testing tools and practices. Collaborate with software development engineers in product design, code reviews, walkthroughs and product lifecycle inspections. Problem investigation and resolution. Respond to inquiries from technical support regarding functions and operation of software applications. Report test results and analysis. Verify documentation and on-line help content. Participate in knowledge transfer sessions for Services, Support Center and other staff. Work on site at Itron in Raleigh, NC. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering) is required.
  • 0-2 years professional experience as a Systems Test Engineer or related experience.
  • Scripting experience (Python preferred)
  • Familiarity/exposure to both Windows and Linux server environments
  • Exposure to IP Networking
  • Available to work on site in Raleigh, with some remote flexibility – schedule is project driven and variable.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous related work or internship experience
  • Experience using relational databases (Oracle and SQL server)
  • Familiarity with could technologies (i.e MS Azure and/or AWS)
  • Exposure to cellular technology, RF technologies
