This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII. The SkillBridge intern will train as a Systems Test Engineer with HII Mission Technologies. The intern will apply military experience in operations, intelligence, electronics, IT, and systems integration to support test planning, execution, and reporting. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed. At the end of three to four months, you will: Plan, execute, and report on system assessments in a rapid, agile environment. Apply DoD testing and evaluation methods to emerging technologies. Develop test plans that maximize data collection opportunities. Collect and analyze data using both manual and electronic methods. Provide recommendations to analysts on best practices for technology employment. Deliver objective, verifiable conclusions that inform operational decisions. Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the SkillBridge intern and considers the SkillBridge internship an overall positive experience. SkillBridge Intern will possess, and maintain, at minimum an active Top-Secret SCI Security Clearance. SkillBridge Intern will be available during core hours for critical meetings and training. Training Location: Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, New Mexico Training Plan Phase 1 - Organizational and Process Familiarization Week 1: In-process and team familiarization. Week 2: Overview of operations research and analyst expectations. Week 3: Develop assessment plans. Week 4: Learn assessment execution basics. Phase 2 - Project Assessment Support Operations Weeks 5-7: Support requirements review and assessment plan development. Weeks 8-10: Plan logistics and prepare equipment for assessment execution. Phase 3 - Assessment Execution Operations Weeks 11-12: Conduct assessments and collect data. Week 13: Apply analysis techniques to produce actionable results. Additional Goals Understand RD-TSX process flow, planning, and reporting standards. Gain familiarity with instrumentation equipment used in assessments. Learn how HII integrates with RD-TSX to support mission technologies.
