About The Position

Expedient is hiring a Systems Technician to join the Operations Support team.  This position will focus on the support and maintenance of Microsoft based platforms and applications. The Systems Technician will embrace technical challenges with creativity and will act as a trusted advisor to our clients. Expedient is an established provider of cloud and data center infrastructure solutions.  This is a hybrid position requiring proximity to one of our eligible office locations which include Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Columbus, Memphis, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Phoenix and Denver. Includes on call participation premium pay. Sponsorship is not provided for this role.

Requirements

  • 2+ years as a systems administrator or Technician responsible for Managed Service Provider (preferred) or Enterprise
  • Demonstrates a level of competency with many of the following technologies: Microsoft OS, SCCM, SCOM, and RDS applications
  • Understanding of virtualization platforms (ESXi and AHV) and how to manage guest workloads deployed on these platforms.
  • Disaster recovery technologies
  • Understanding of Data Protection technologies such as Cohesity and Commvault
  • Basic UNIX commands (primary focus on Red Hat and Ubuntu)
  • Basic networking principles, firewall rules, IP addressing and VLANs
  • Ability to prioritize and be productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to identify and resolve challenging situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding service and response time working with clients
  • Passion for learning technologies and curious for new ideas
  • Flexibility to be available for scheduled night and weekend implementation projects when required

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate may possess one or multiple industry technical certifications from IT-related vendors like Microsoft, VMware, and Nutanix

Responsibilities

  • Ensure stability of standard technical implementations by working to patch and maintain solutions, systems, managed services and virtual environments that are sold to clients
  • Follow vendor guidelines, processes and procedures to ensure system standards and stability are maintained for client and internal environments
  • Ensure appropriate documentation for platforms and procedures is generated or updated as upgrades, standards, and migrations require
  • Communicate with clients and internal staff directly to ensure expectations are set and that appropriate attention is being paid to client trouble tickets
