About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking out next Systems Support Specialist II !!! AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking Systems Support Specialist II personnel to support the NISSC 3 program at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska . These positions deliver technical and operational support for multiple mission systems by providing onsite and oncall coverage for system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support in a TS/SCI environment. The Systems Support Specialists will help ensure system availability, data integrity, and highquality process and incident documentation.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in systems or network administration, systems support, or similar technical roles in secure, mission critical (DoD or similar) environments.
  • Expertise in system administration and troubleshooting for multiple mission systems.
  • Strong skills in preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system availability and operational readiness.
  • Experience providing responsive user support and training.
  • Proficiency in managing process documentation, incident response, and operational logs to maintain data integrity.
  • Ability to act as a technical resource for performance optimization and to oversee compliance with procedural and documentation standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, OR Equivalent DoD/Military training in systems administration, network operations, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum: Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.
  • Holds a DoD 8140 qualifying certification; one or more of the following (or equivalent) is required/preferred: – Cloud+ – GSEC – Security+ – SSCP

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and on call system administration and operational support for multiple mission systems at Offutt AFB.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system performance issues affecting mission operations.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, including applying patches, updates, configuration changes, and performance tuning.
  • Provide responsive user support and training for system access, basic operations, and issue resolution.
  • Collect, maintain, and update operational logs, incident and deficiency reports, and checklists in accordance with program and security standards.
  • Perform incident response, including initial triage, escalation, coordination with highertier support, and closure documentation.
  • Execute backup and restore operations to ensure data integrity, availability, and continuity of operations.
  • Support system administration and basic database support tasks as needed to maintain operational environments.
  • Oversee procedural compliance and ensure all records, logs, and reports meet required operational, security, and audit standards.
  • Act as a technical resource for performance optimization, data integrity, role continuity, and support of management status reporting.
