About The Position

The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity, responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, licensing and regulating nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives. Under the direction of Secretary Shevaun L. Harris, the Agency aims to advance Governor DeSantis’ vision for Florida’s health care system to be the most cost-effective, transparent, and high-quality in the nation. This is a technical professional position within the Division of Information Technology, Bureau of Strategic Information Technologies. The role involves assisting in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and software for the Agency, meeting with business users and other IT staff to develop and modify computer systems to meet business unit needs. This position is part of the licensing, datamart, and reporting team.

Requirements

  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite of tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to use Cognos, Tableau, or other reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL query language.
  • Ability to analyze needs and requirements to create data sources and reports.
  • Ability to plan, organize, document, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • One year of work experience using reporting tools.
  • One year of experience working with data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and software for the Agency.
  • Meeting with business users and other IT staff to develop and modify computer systems to meet the business units' needs.
  • Working as part of the licensing, datamart, and reporting team.
  • Writing, maintaining, and supporting the Cognos and Tableau reporting environment.
  • Creating/maintaining reports in Azure DevOps.
  • Working with business units to build, test, and debug Cognos and Tableau reports.
  • Deploying reports to DEV, BETA & PROD with user guidance.
  • Performing regular maintenance to ensure only needed reports are still deployed for use.
  • Assisting the business units in determining their report and data needs.
  • Facilitating/attending meetings to form a collaboration between the business unit and technical staff.
  • Working with the business unit and team members to define business needs and help create data solutions.
  • Assisting in SSRS report maintenance, including building new reports, updating existing reports, deploying reports, or troubleshooting issues submitted by users.
  • Assisting in supporting the Business Intelligence (BI) initiative by planning, developing, supporting, maintaining, and implementing processes, data sources, and data dissemination methods.
  • Ensuring product and solution quality by following the Bureau's standards and procedures and industry best practices.
  • Ensuring that the solution is reliable, usable, maintainable, and secure.
  • Keeping the development standards and procedure documents up-to-date.
  • Researching and attending trainings in order to keep up with new and emerging technologies.
  • Maintaining a sufficient technical skill level to perform required work tasks.
  • Working closely with other team members and contributing ideas and solutions to create synergy within the team environment.
  • Assisting in Versa Regulation (VR) maintenance, including maintaining user accounts, sending out renewal reminder letters, creating/maintaining VR letters, and other general maintenance tasks the system requires.
  • Working during the weekend or on holidays if identified as mission-essential.
  • Working during disasters, including before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
  • Performing emergency duties which may involve working in another county or staffing location to assist other State Agencies with emergency work.
