About The Position

The Systems Programmer II provides hands on support for data cleanup, application documentation, and user focused materials across multiple existing software applications. This role focuses on improving data accuracy, documentation quality, and overall organization of application resources to enhance security, usability, and support efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • Strong written communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standards and templates.
  • Ability to organize complex information in a clear, user focused manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting or documenting software applications.
  • Familiarity with application security concepts and governance documentation.
  • Experience creating user guides, release notes, or knowledge base articles.
  • Background in IT, knowledge management, technical writing, or a related field.
  • Experience working with databases or structured data (cleanup, validation, organization).
  • Proficiency with common documentation tools (e.g., Word, Excel, SharePoint, or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Data Management & Cleanup: Review, clean, and standardize data within application databases. Identify inconsistencies, duplicates, or outdated records and recommend corrections. Document data standards and cleanup processes for future reference.
  • Application Security & Governance Documentation: Assist in preparing and organizing documentation required for application security reviews and governance processes. Gather and standardize existing security related materials into a consistent format. Ensure documentation is current, complete, and easy to reference.
  • Release Notes & Change Documentation: Write and standardize release notes for software updates and enhancements. Collaborate with application owners and technical staff to accurately document changes. Maintain a consistent release notes template and archive.
  • User Guides & End User Documentation: Create, update, and maintain user guides for existing software applications. Translate technical information into clear, user friendly documentation. Ensure guides follow consistent structure, formatting, and terminology.
  • Information Organization & Usability: Help organize application documentation and resources for improved end user access. Recommend improvements to content structure, naming conventions, and navigation. Support knowledge management best practices for documentation lifecycle management.
