MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT: As a Systems Integration Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USCENTCOM. You will play a crucial role to design, test, and integrate solutions for activities and projects for the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program supporting the USCENTCOM J6 in Tampa, FL. The position resides in the Digital Transformation Team J6, and the primary focus is to explore, assess, and recommend innovative solutions, which includes products, services, ideas, methods, or approaches to address the requirements of the U.S. CENTCOM Commander and the Director J6.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in computer science, engineering, or a related field of study
  • Certification: DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 IAT-II baseline (e.g., Security+ CE) Certification
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Technical skills: Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific engineering projects
  • Expanding and/or modifying established systems to serve new purposes or improve workflow
  • Working with Microsoft, Linux, and/or virtual environment-based systems
  • Preparing cost estimations, function/timeline analysis, data flow diagrams, and program/user documentation
  • Gathering, analyzing, and translating complex requirements into system design specifications
  • TS/SCI clearance required
  • US citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and familiarity with the U.S. CENTCOM IT environment and mission
  • Proven experience supporting Combatant Commands, the U.S. Military, or the Intelligence Community
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for a variety of engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Professional-level vendor/industry certifications (e.g., Splunk, Riverbed, Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware)
  • Agile-based certifications
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
  • A self-motivated and resourceful professional who can complete tasks effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and deploy integrated solutions aligned with CITS Program projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with U.S. CENTCOM leadership, cross-functional teams, and vendors to understand requirements, design innovative solutions, and determine product feasibility and cost modeling
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on enhancing theater and HQ enterprise network capabilities in support of USCENTCOM priorities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of new technologies, including Proofs of Concepts, pilots, and hardware/software testing
  • Develop and outline detailed integration plans, strategies, task sequences, and dependencies
  • Perform rigorous testing and validation of integrated systems to identify and resolve functionality or performance issues
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation for integration processes, including system design specifications, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and workshops to generate creative solutions and promote a culture of innovation
  • Configure hardware and software for deployment and operation within enterprise networks
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during and after deployment to address any integration-related concerns
  • Ensure all IT engineering projects and initiatives adhere to established organizational policies, procedures, and objectives
