About The Position

The Transportation Solution Division within the Leidos Civil group is seeking Systems, Hardware, Integration and Software Engineer Intern who will be a member of a dynamic team working on the one of several Air Traffic Management programs including En-Route Automation Modernization (ERAM), the heart of the Next Generation Air Transportation System and the pulse of the National Airspace System, providing the foundation for NexGen functions Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM), a tower based system that improves surface management and electronic flight strips Investment Research and Development (IRAD) projects in support of the Brand New Air Traffic Control System. SkyLine-X™ provides an array of advanced air traffic management capabilities to improve aircraft safety, performance, and efficiency across the world’s airspace. Primary Responsibilities: The candidate must have some exposure to mechanical engineering, system engineering or software engineering. The candidate must also have exposure to artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) or automation methods. Tasks will include learning, understanding and using AI/ML or automation methods to improve technical processes that produce hardware engineering artifacts. Hardware engineering artifacts include, but are not limited to, hardware installation documentation and hardware component kits for field installers, cabling diagrams and requirements between hardware systems, server/workstation/console/hardware component design drawings using Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD, and bill of materials (BOM) development.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program in a relevant discipline; for example, engineering, computer science.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Demonstrated prior exposure to Artificial Intelligence and or Machine Learning.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing automation methods to modify technical documentation using technical automation tools or techniques

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing automation methods to modify technical documentation such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio or AutoCAD using excel VBA coding, python or other automation software or techniques.

Responsibilities
