About The Position

This role is for a Systems Engineering Lead for the NASAMS product line within the Systems Engineering, Integrated Systems Department at Raytheon, a part of RTX. Raytheon, leveraging over 100 years of engineering expertise, provides world-class weapon systems engineering, including radar systems, effector systems, battle management, command and control, network design, battlespace integration, and interoperability for both domestic and international customers. The successful candidate will drive the design and development of world-class air and missile defense systems, working alongside motivated engineers to conduct systems engineering studies and trades, support system requirements definition and analysis, and contribute to algorithm development, integration, test, and evaluation.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience with Air Defense Systems
Experience managing project financials, scope, and performance metrics (including cost, schedule or earned value)
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

Experience interfacing with external customers and industry partners, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self‑motivated, passionate leader with over 5 years of experience in Air Defense Systems or Systems Engineering (production or development)
Knowledge of Air Defense systems (e.g., Patriot, NASAMS) and experience making challenging technical decisions while managing competing priorities
Existing DoD security clearance, plus familiarity with Raytheon IPDS or equivalent frameworks and Earned Value Management (including Raytheon EVM execution)
Advanced degree in EE, CE, Physics, Math, ME, or Aerospace

Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight and management for a variety of Systems Engineering efforts
Concept and requirements development (including decomposition and flowdown) within a mature product-line
Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development and design
Algorithm optimization and development
Multi-disciplinary development efforts across the kill-chain for an Air and Missile Defense System
Collaboration with customer to bring new capabilities to the warfighter
Functional analysis of real world and test data; trade studies to bring advanced features to fielded system
Support and lead Internal and External Program and Design Reviews
Collaborate with other IPT/CPT leads from the various functions and products
Support and lead Internal Research and Development for future capability upgrades
System integration and test support, including live fire test events
