Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2026. In this role, you will: Develop/analyze/verify subsystem and package/box level requirements Support design trade studies to optimize the design for performance and producibility Define and document key internal and external interfaces. Perform related combability analyses Coordinate with customer and other contractors to develop key test artifacts including test requirements, plans, objectives and to support the development of test procedures Participate in activities with domain experts across subsystems, SEIT, and special disciplines Participate in subsystem level technical reviews including TIMs, SRRs, PDRs, etc Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college
  • Experience with analyzing and resolving technical problems or projects
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in complex problem solving requiring multidisciplinary thinking
  • Experience with System or System of Systems level design
  • Excellent communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, customers, and leadership.
  • Active DoD security clearance
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
