Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2026 in Littleton, Colorado In this role, you will explore and develop your systems engineering understanding of requirements development and integration. You will work on the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) team and get valuable experience working with many engineering disciplines to find solutions to integration related challenges. Project: Requirements and Verification Dashboard The intern will learn about IBM DOORS Classic and be empowered to design a dashboard in tool of their choosing to: -Monitor requirements stability -Generate verification metrics and burndowns per deliverable Other Benefits: You will have exposure to daily R&V tasking and CPS Program You will learn about writing good requirements and good verifications You will receive an R&V ‘buddy’ to provide mentorship You will have opportunity to present Dashboard at Requirements Working Group, thus giving them experience in presentation, professionalism, and customer-facing interactions This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an Engineering undergraduate program pursuing a relevant engineering discipline or similar.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with analyzing and resolving technical problems or projects
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain a Secret Security Clearance - U.S. Citizenship required

  • Ability to work with a team in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in complex problem solving requiring multidisciplinary thinking
  • Experience with System or System of Systems level design
  • Excellent communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, customers, and leadership.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Active or Current Secret Security clearance
