About The Position

Point Solutions Group is part of a team in California that is solving challenges in supporting our customer's mission of delivering and sustaining reliable satellite communications capabilities to America's warfighters and allies. We looking for motivated self-driven technologists to join us! Currently our search is for a Junior level Systems Engineer with an active Secret Clearance, or higher, in the Sunnyvale, CA area. Job Responsibilities: Systems administration and help desk expertise for sustainment/development environments on MASC, covering Windows, Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and other operating systems. Configuration, data management, and software builds using Change Management (CM) tools. Collaboration with functional teams to resolve findings/issues and participate in Agile activities. Development and application of cybersecurity solutions, ensuring compliance with computer security policy and Risk Management Framework (RMF). Performance of software installs, updates, and patches, including troubleshooting and support. Maintenance and development of documentation, including Version Description Documents (VDDs) and job aides. Support for Digital Transformation activities, CDRL preparations, and ad hoc MASC projects. Generation and documentation of metrics, tracking and documenting all efforts. Travel to remote sites as needed to perform efforts. Provision of support across the program information systems, including troubleshooting and remediation of issues. Provide Ground Controller support for operations including but not limited to: Resetting user passwords, adjusting satellite position, monitor telemetry systems, resolve communication issues, support data center operations.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance (will upgrade to Top Secret)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience supporting enterprise or program information systems (internships applicable).
  • Foundational knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux); familiarity with Solaris is a plus.
  • Experience with systems administration tasks such as user account management, software installation, patching, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
  • Exposure to configuration management and change management processes; experience with CM tools preferred.
  • Understanding of basic cybersecurity principles and familiarity with security frameworks such as RMF or NIST guidelines.
  • Ability to support software builds, updates, and environment sustainment activities.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment; familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, including procedures and system artifacts.
  • Comfortable tracking tasks, generating metrics, and documenting work efforts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites as needed.
