About The Position

I2X Technologies is a reputable technology services company to the Federal Government, focusing on space exploration, national security, cyber security, and cutting-edge engineering applications. They offer long-term growth and development, with programs across the country and in over 20 states, supporting multiple Federal agencies, the Department of Defense, and government space initiatives. I2X Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support ongoing activities for a customer in Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO. This on-site position requires an active Secret clearance and will concentrate on early-phase (concept, requirements, and design) activities of the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle.

Requirements

Emerging authority typically with an advanced degree and 7+ years experience or Bachelors with 9+ years experience or equivalent
Systems Engineer with experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems engineers developing solutions covering all aspects of the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle.
Experience regularly interacting with the customer, specifically in elicitation of customer needs and requirements.
Experience with one or more elements of a Missile Defense System.
Experience with one or more elements involved in Space Defense, Space Domain Awareness, or other Space Missions.
Experience with complex Command and Control Systems, especially those with heavy networking capabilities.
Experience performing many of the responsibilities of this position, with a particular focus on concept development and requirement decomposition.
Experience with using MBSE approaches and tools (e.g. CAMEO).
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate (written and verbal) with others, present technical content, and receive critical feedback.
Ability to support short-notice and/or urgent tasks without a loss of efficiency.
US Citizenship is required
Active Secret clearance

Responsibilities

Lead the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs, acquired through documentation and solicitation, into easily reviewable technical approaches.
Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using behavioral artifacts such as use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams to convey understanding of the required behaviors and performance of the system under development.
Lead the development of physical and logical system models capturing the system under development utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools.
Lead system interface development, as captured in Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs), by converting system and interface requirements into message-level details sufficient to coordinate interface development.
Support formal and informal engineering technical reviews.
Create, review and critique interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, architectural documentation, and engineering estimates.
Interface with key stakeholders, including the government customer and working-level counterparts, as-required.
Participate in Agile development planning and execution, including iteration planning and status reporting.
