About The Position

As a Systems Engineer at Venus Aerospace, you will be part of the team building and scaling the enterprise infrastructure that powers our engineering, manufacturing, and mission-critical operations. In close collaboration with IT, security, and engineering partners, you will help design, deploy, secure, and maintain our on-premises and cloud environments to ensure reliability, resilience, and performance across the organization. This role is central to operational excellence. You will contribute to the architecture and support of secure systems across Windows and Linux platforms, virtualization environments, identity services, and core IT infrastructure. Success in this position requires strong technical depth, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to operate confidently in regulated environments where security and uptime are critical. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in systems engineering, IT help desk or comparable technical support, or systems administration
  • Experience with Windows and Linux Operating systems
  • Proficiency with PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python scripting
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IPv4, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
  • Hands-on experience supporting production environments
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), containerization platforms, SAN/NAS and clustered storage solutions, endpoint management systems, enterprise backup platforms, and VMware Cloud Foundation.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles such as requirements gathering, requirements decomposition, and change management
  • Experience deploying and managing engineering software (CAD/CAM, Analysis, Simulation and Modeling Tools)
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals, power distribution, and environmental management
  • Knowledge of packaging and deploying software for large scale deployments
  • Experience with SIEM and other monitoring tools
  • Experience in regulated, government, financial, healthcare, or aerospace environments
  • Security certifications (Security+, equivalent) or security-focused experience
  • Industry certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Linux Foundation)
  • Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in high-availability or mission-critical environments
  • A strong desire to learn and experiment, with the ability to translate learned lessons from a lab to a production environment

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Systems Management: Deploy and maintain virtualization platforms, server operating systems, and user facing systems.
  • Manage server hardware, storage platforms, and virtual machine environments.
  • Ensure availability, performance, and reliability of infrastructure systems.
  • Identity, Access, & Core Services: DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Certificate Services/PKI, and domain services.
  • Manage IDP solutions such as Active Directory, EntraID, and Okta to support SSO, Identity federation, and authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth/OIDC, FIDO).
  • Support physical Access Control and monitoring solutions.
  • Cloud & Collaboration Platforms: Support Microsoft 365 / Office 365 services (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Administer Azure tenant services and hybrid cloud integrations.
  • Support productivity, automation, and collaboration tools.
  • Automation, Scripting & DevOps: Automate routine or complex tasks using PowerShell, Python, bash, or other relevant languages.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Ansible.
  • Manage source control repositories and support CI/CD and DevOps workflows where applicable.
  • Security, Compliance & Reliability: Apply security best practices for servers, networks, and identity platforms.
  • Monitor vulnerabilities, security incidents, and compliance requirements.
  • Support audits, regulatory requirements, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Implement and maintain backup, failover, and recovery solutions.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Maintain detailed documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and system diagrams.
  • Convert ad-hoc processes into standardized, repeatable procedures.
  • Provide reporting on performance, incidents, and compliance metrics.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with engineering, operations, security, and business teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Contribute to infrastructure planning and modernization projects.
