About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer (O&M) to join their team in Herndon, VA. This role is part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, which aims to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework. The Systems Engineer will provide production and operational support to various services running on enterprise platforms, including deployment/change implementation, in-depth troubleshooting, and developing/updating Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs). The successful candidate must quickly learn business workflows, technical architecture, dependent systems, and service-layer interfaces. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting complex, modern enterprise environments, demonstrate sound engineering judgment, and thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience
  • Experience working in Agile environment
  • At least 3 years' of experience in providing production and operational support for Mission Critical Services running on one or more Enterprise platforms such as WebLogic, Salesforce, OpenShift Container Platform, and AWS (Kubernetes)
  • At least 5 years' of experience working on Linux OS
  • At least 5 years' of experience in at least one RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, Amazon RDS)
  • Experience in providing production and operational support for services running on enterprise platforms
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain or have an Active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearance acceptable

  • Experience in ServiceNow
  • Experience in Agile tools such as JIRA
  • Experience working with Confluence

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall Production and Operational support for Services deployed on various platforms such as WebLogic, Salesforce, OpenShift Container Platform, and AWS (Kubernetes)
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting of issue at hand by reviewing App, Platform and System layer logs as required
  • Participate in 24x7 On-call support on weekly rotation
  • Develop and maintain Knowledge Based Articles and SOPs
  • Perform and participate in knowledge share with internal and external teams, as required
  • Assist in developing, enhancing, and testing Puppet scripts
  • Must be able to work with multiple cross-functional technical and non-technical teams
  • Provide deployment or change implementation support as required
  • Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity, audit, and configuration management requirements
