About The Position

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Orlando, Florida has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer Staff, supporting the F-35 Ground Maintenance Systems (MxS) organization. This role involves providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, collaborating with a diverse team of technical professionals, and interacting with internal and external customers. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, and team-oriented. This position will serve as the I&T Embedded Lead on the F-35 MxS Integration & Test (I&T) Team, driving team execution and developing test strategies to support the integration and test of new ODIN capabilities. The role also entails driving technical engagements, collaborating extensively with internal and external development teams, and providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) support and technical leadership related to I&T activities. Candidates filling this position will need a government security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent STEM degree with 5 years of professional experience.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting and understanding of integration & test processes.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document and refine technical solutions in support of standards and best practices.
  • Experience leading diverse technical teams.
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration (for security clearance).

Nice To Haves

  • Technical leadership experience.
  • Prior integration & test experience.
  • Ability to produce and analyze team performance metrics.
  • Working knowledge of the F-35 ALIS/ODIN applications, hardware, and software.
  • Experienced technical writer with the ability to create and refine test plans, test logs, and test reports.
  • Ability to drive daily meetings and provide technical leadership to a diverse team of engineers.
  • Backlog management and Scrum Master experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge or experience in Agile development processes and tools such as JIRA.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead technical discussions, collaborate on technical solutions, and interact with internal and external teams at all levels.
  • Post-secondary degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integration and test activities including but not limited to, defining test strategy, managing backlog, providing status to internal leadership, and ensuring overall quality of new software releases.
  • Assess stakeholder requirements and identify requirements to develop integration & test strategies.
  • Apply best practices for technical artifacts and continuously refine processes while collaborating with internal and external program managers, product owners, software engineers, data architects, and other technical professionals to ensure standards are met.
  • Recommend changes to improve system architecture to maximize performance and eliminate potential problems.
  • Ensure technical quality across all embedded integration & test activities.
