Our department specializes in problem solving - from immediate production line stoppages to long term program project completion. Our team works with an array of support equipment, missile hardware and other systems that directly support the FBM mission. Position is at the Navy's Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific in Silverdale, WA and requires support to day and swing shift hours. Occasional overtime weekend support is also needed. Some travel is expected to other FBM sites. Candidate works in a team environment under the general direction of a group lead. As a Systems Engineer Staff, your roles and responsibilities will include: Support all phases of the program lifecycle (development, production, and post production) and develop technical requirements documents to support those efforts Perform Systems Integration, test and other verification activities for new/existing hardware and technical documentation The successful candidate must also have ability to organize, motivate and lead cross-functional groups, and demonstrate in-depth technical skills Work directly with the hands-on mechanics and support LM, Navy and civil service personnel to address questions on system design, be knowledgeable on production/maintenance processes, and perform Material Review Board actions for discrepant hardware Conduct development of both simple and complex engineering studies that involve process/product root cause and corrective action, data/metrics analysis and targeted program system/process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering degree program (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, etc.) from an accredited college/university
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in FBM program
  • Active or Current Top Secret Clearance; US Citizenship Required
  • This position requires participation in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP)
  • This position requires participation in the Radiological Controls Programs (NWRCO)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation PLC systems, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, PanelView Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Holds or has held Material Review Board certification through LM Space
  • Deep understanding of Hydraulic, Automation and Control systems
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with developing and creating technical management programs for different electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience working with senior leadership and customer leadership on significant matters that impact program wide efforts.
