About The Position

Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GWS system provides missile defense capabilities that protect and defends the United States of America. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat. This role is for a Systems Engineer Sr to support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. In this role the candidate will perform Systems and Hardware Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, hardware fault analysis, hardware testing, environmental testing, and hardware to software interface definition as part of the IDT product team. This team follows an Agile framework using Jira and Confluence to manage their backlog and document progress. Additional work the role may perform includes: The candidate should have a background in hardware to include experience developing Test Plans, performing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT), and knowledge of hardware to software interfaces, as well as, experience diagnosing hardware faults (fault detection and fault isolation). The candidate should be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Individual must be open to travel up to 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • BS Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of experience with Masters degree
  • Prior experience developing Test Plans and Test Procedures for DoD programs
  • Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs
  • Prior experience working using DOORS
  • Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo
  • Active Secret Security clearance
  • US Citizen

  • Prior experience using Atlassian Tools
  • Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices
  • Prior experience as a Product Owner
  • Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis
  • Familiar with Software Containerization and Orchestration
  • Familiar with DevSecOps
  • Prior experience working with MIL-STD-810 and performing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
  • Prior experience working with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA)
  • Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) per MIL-STD-461 and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) per MIL-STD-464
  • Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with High-Altitude electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) per MIL-STD-188-125-1 and MIL-STD-188-125-2
  • Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) per MIL-HDBK-344
