Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer - Level 4 to serve as the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) programs flight experiments and flight tests Lead Systems Engineer/Mission Manager. This position is 100% on site in Chandler, AZ.

Requirements

  • Requires BS in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years related experience, Masters Degree with 6 years of related experience or PhD with 4 year of experience.
  • Experience developing requirements and designing missions without customer directed requirements
  • Experience with requirements decomposition and allocation
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to work fast paced development programs
  • Ability to travel is required
  • Experience leading within an IPT organization as a lead or a SME
  • System testing and launch operations experience is desired
  • Previous Cost Account Management experience is desired
  • Systems Engineering Experience working MDA flight tests is desired
  • Interceptor development experience is desired

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Lead Systems Engineer and Mission Manager for the GPI Programs flight experiments and flight tests requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Generate and document system level interceptor and mission specific requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments and participate in system level verification/data review activities.
  • Create new system requirements and manages requirement changes in the Requirements Management databases working effectively with IPT leaders, team members, and government customers.
  • Drive tasks to completion autonomously and possess demonstrated mentoring/training skills.
  • Create and manage both original and revised specification/interface definition documents and coordinates document approval through peer review and signature process.
  • Implement and manage system requirements in the Requirements Management databases (DOORS).
  • Provide data for and assists in risk management (identifies potential risk) and trade study processes.
  • Manage aspects of system design, analyses, interface verification, testing, and failure/anomaly resolution or mission operations.
  • Participate in the creation of and manages changes to system or subsystem analytical models.
  • Interface with IPT engineering staff as required.
  • Prepare and present materials at major milestone meetings.
