The Systems Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting both on‑premises data center infrastructure and cloud‑based customer and customer‑serving environments. This role provides hands‑on technical support across server, storage, virtualization, backup, and operating system platforms, while partnering closely with Field Engineering and other internal teams to ensure stable, secure, and well‑documented environments. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, a proactive mindset, and the ability to support multiple customer environments in a fast‑paced setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience supporting data center systems infrastructure.
  • Strong working knowledge of server, storage, hypervisor, and backup platforms across multiple vendors.
  • Hands‑on experience with:
  • VMware and/or Hyper‑V
  • Windows Server
  • Veeam
  • Various operating systems
  • Solid expertise with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, including:
  • Entra ID
  • Intune
  • Enterprise Applications
  • Azure Subscriptions
  • Professionalâ€level certifications in data centerâ€centric technologies is required (e.g., VMware, Veeam, Azure, Office 365, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and support multiple customer environments in a fastâ€paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Nutanix, Rubrik, Proxmox, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
  • Demonstrated willingness to continuously learn, adapt, and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain on‑premises data center and cloud‑based customer and customer‑serving environments.
  • Support and maintain complex technologies including server and storage systems, hypervisors, backup applications and appliances, and supported operating systems.
  • Execute Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) across supported environments.
  • Partner with Field Engineering teams to provide post‑implementation support.
  • Perform proactive system maintenance, including monthly health checks and remediation of critical vulnerabilities.
  • Serve as an escalation point for data center support, providing advanced debugging, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including designs, diagrams, and standard operating procedures for configurations, changes, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all work complies with customer requirements, company policies, security standards, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain required technical certifications and actively pursue new certifications to support partner and compliance requirements.
