About The Position

Amentum, Nuclear Projects – Denver is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support nuclear and other high-hazard / high consequence projects. The Systems Engineer is responsible for requirements management, integration, and verification of client requirements across multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure successful delivery of complex engineering projects for the Department of Energy (DOE) and other nuclear clients. Expertise in systems engineering and cross-functional collaboration will be instrumental in influencing the success of intricate nuclear projects. Reporting to the Supervising Systems Engineer, essential responsibilities include: Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in the development of requirements for nuclear infrastructure projects. Assemble and manage requirements to satisfy customers and project end goals. Adhere to the configuration management of systems generated deliverables Communicate in a manner that is consistent, effective, and efficient in both written and oral forms, across all levels of the project (customer, internal resources, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, etc.). Interface with client stakeholders to ensure project expectations are being met. Assist the project team and other stakeholders in developing interface definitions and controls to ensure integration across engineering disciplines and with owner and third-party vendor supplied special equipment. Support the management of requirements in a database tool to assist in documentation, control, and verification of requirements. Work with the project team to ensure requirements compliance and that requirements are satisfied during project delivery. Demonstrate the achievement of verification in a database tool and published reports.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 2-5 years of Engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience preferred.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple levels and reporting lines.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of engineering disciplines associated with nuclear or other high-hazard / high-consequence facility infrastructure.
  • Must have strong relationship management, facilitation, and consulting skills.
  • Experience / knowledge of the Engineering Design Process (control of design inputs and verification/validation of outputs).
  • Appropriate combination of education, experience, and competency:
  • Experienced in writing and reviewing technical quality documentation.
  • Experienced working in safety and operational requirements, from initial design to final implementation, by managing requirements, conducting analyses, and verifying compliance.
  • Experienced working in industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Not a remote position. In-office presence required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in utilizing a comprehensive requirements management system or a particular Requirements Management Tool (e.g. Jama, DOORS, etc.) preferred.
  • INCOSE ASEP certification preferred
  • Proficiency in TraceCloud requirements management tool, desired
  • Knowledge of DOE orders, standards, and guidelines for nuclear facility design preferred.
