The Electronic Warfare and Airborne Sensors department within the Space and Air Sensors; Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support ongoing integration, test, and sustainment activities for the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) Common Electronics Unit (CEU). NGJ is the flagship product for the Electronic Attack Systems mission area within the Naval Power Strategic Business Unit of Raytheon. This position supports a variety of activities including but not limited to production support, failure investigation and resolution, root cause and corrective action, aftermarket sustainment, supplier engagement, test planning and implementation, and new system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V). The successful candidate is an energetic, focused, and capable engineer with strong organizational capabilities and a drive to learn and grow. This position is full-time on-site in Fort Wayne, IN

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Engineering, Physics or Computer Science (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience
  • RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation characteristics and analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing.
  • Support occasional business travel (20% or less).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to address complex engineering issues by performing analysis, development, and implementation of solutions to complex engineering problems
  • Communicate system designs, project updates, and technical findings to internal teams and external partners.
  • Development, implementation, and test of RF jamming algorithms.
  • Experience using MATLAB, PathWave ADS, and/or PathWave EMPro for simulation and design of RF systems.
  • RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in the Electronic Attack (i.e. signals jamming) sub-domain of EW.
  • Embedded systems and embedded programming.
  • Experience implementing digital signal processing solutions on embedded processors and digital hardware.
  • DOORS for requirements management.

Responsibilities

  • Support test, fault identification, failure resolution, and acceptance of production and field return hardware.
  • Provide engineering support to NGJ lab test and qualification activities, providing engineering oversight to the test, evaluation, and analysis of issues pertaining to system hardware and firmware functionality and performance.
  • Provide support for situations including (but not limited to) customer inquiries, field failures, product obsolescence, system enhancements, new product development and integration.
  • Evaluate and assess the performance of developmental electronic warfare systems, including signal processing subsystems.
  • Support system configuration management activities, ensuring the system configuration is stable and secure, while managing the propagation of change within the overall CEU system.
