In this role, you will contribute to the ongoing development of an advanced, leading-edge hybrid software system while providing technical guidance and supporting strong team communication. As the Systems Engineer II, you will operate in a technical capacity within a SAFe Agile development environment and collaborate closely with engineers across agile teams. This position is onsite in State College, PA. What You Will Do The Systems Engineer will execute multiple aspects of the systems engineering full lifecycle process, to include requirements decomposition into software functions, system performance analysis and trade studies, oversight of software development and system integration and test activities to ensure system requirements closure. The system engineer will interact with the agile development team regarding technical considerations, risks, and issue closure associated within development of the system capabilities. This role performs the analysis necessary to define and document requirements for software releases; work with the Requirements Manager to ensure up to date requirements traceability matrices are in place; assist in the creation/management of a project schedule based on development and release activities. Collaborate with Systems Engineering Team and Developers to ensure Software and System needs are being supported and coordinate additional assistance if needed. Contribute to testing, training, and implementation of new platform technologies and code quality methodologies. Assist the Agile development teams on best practices for software development in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) environment The candidate must also possess the ability to multi-task, adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, effectively network, and communicate to the appropriate levels of the organization and drive processes to successful completion in support of schedules.
