The Electronic Warfare and Airborne Sensors department within the Space and Air Sensors organization is seeking an Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge Electronic Warfare (EW) technology and sensor systems. This role involves activities such as concept development, requirements management, design oversight for RF systems, production support, failure analysis, supplier engagement, test planning and implementation, and system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V). The ideal candidate is energetic, focused, capable, possesses strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, can operate independently with moderate supervision, and is a strong team player capable of establishing solid working relationships. This is an onsite position in Fort Wayne, IN.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), such as Computer or Electrical Engineering, obtained prior to start
  • Academic or extracurricular experience with radio, comms, or radar systems design, operation, analysis, or simulation
  • Experience communicating and presenting system design details and/or system test results to stakeholders
  • Experience analyzing, developing and implementing solutions to complex technical problems in conditions of moderate uncertainty. Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to RF system design, digital and/or analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing
  • Experience with development, implementation, and test of RF jamming algorithms
  • Experience using MATLAB, PathWave ADS, and/or PathWave EMPro for simulation and design of RF systems
  • Exposure to/experience with C/C++ or Python programing languages
  • RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in the Electronic Attack (i.e. signals jamming) sub-domain of EW
  • Understanding of embedded systems and embedded programming
  • Experience with design/implementation of embedded systems on FPGA hardware
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools (eg Cameo or similar)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience using DOORS for requirements management

Responsibilities

  • Understand the customer’s functional/operational needs and participate in requirements decomposition, overseeing proper allocation of technical elements
  • Support system integration, test, design verification, fault identification, failure resolution, and/or acceptance of production hardware
  • Provide engineering support to lab test and qualification activities, providing engineering oversight to the test, evaluation, and analysis of issues pertaining to system hardware and firmware functionality and performance
  • Provide support for situations including (but not limited to) customer inquiries, field failures, product obsolescence, system enhancements, new product development, integration and transition to production
  • Evaluate and assess the performance of developmental electronic warfare systems, including signal processing subsystems
  • Balance multiple, varying commitments, exercising discretion and with moderately low direct oversight
  • Support occasional business travel (20% or less)
