About The Position

The Systems Engineer will support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program by developing system engineering products that directly contribute to the design and evolution of missile defense capabilities for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience (Or Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience)
  • Demonstrated experience with C++ development
  • Experience with unit test and system test development
  • Experience with one or more additional languages: Go (GoLang), C, Ada, or Python
  • Ability to read and understand multiple programming languages across systems
  • Experience developing technical work products, presentations, and engineering documentation
  • Travel up to 10% as required
  • On-site role (no telework/hybrid)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Familiarity with DevOps/ALM tools: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket
  • Experience with CI/CD and code quality tools: Bamboo, Jenkins, Fortify, Coverity
  • Experience with containerization and container-based development environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) systems or missile defense programs

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts supporting GWS design and development.
  • Contribute to software development efforts, including implementation in C++ and other supported languages.
  • Support unit testing and system-level testing to validate system functionality and performance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define, analyze, and refine system requirements and design solutions.
  • Interpret and work across multiple programming languages and system components.
  • Participate in technical reviews, presentations, and engineering discussions with program stakeholders.
  • Support a fast-paced, high-visibility program environment with diverse engineering assignments.
