About The Position

Amentum is seeking a dedicated results-oriented Senior Systems Engineer to support NSWC Dahlgren H20. Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer include: Provide technical engineering oversight in the development of the AN/SQQ-89 Advanced Baselines primarily in the surface ASW functional areas of Contact Management and Weapons Control, to include the following: Provide technical guidance to the baseline developers regarding performance and interface requirements. Provide engineering reviews including Performance Specification (P-Spec) baseline releases, Interface Design Specifications (IDSs), and Interface Change Requests (ICRs). Provide active representation on the AN/SQQ-89 Requirements Working Group meetings to manage the performance requirements for CRUDES and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) baselines. Provide active participation to the Bug Adjudication Board meeting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for analysis of Bugs reported against installed baselines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or ten (10) years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to combat systems, command & control systems, and simulation/stimulation systems for Surface Ship Undersea Warfare (USW) US and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) platforms.
  • Ten (10) years professional systems engineering experience in support of Undersea Warfare, including the qualifications below:
  • Five (5) years concurrent experience as a team leader performing system engineering, system analysis and mission engineering efforts.
  • Experience related to the identification, analysis and resolution of complex systems engineering issues involving platform, weapon, combat, C2, and fire control systems for Navy/Joint War fighting capabilities.
  • Experience dealing with issues for a system employing Government Off- The-Shelf software (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf software (COTS) technology.
  • Demonstrated experience developing system integration documents for surface ship weapons control systems and C2 systems, including understanding and developing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Interface Change Requests (ICR), Interface Design Specifications (IDS), and Weapon Specifications (WS).
  • Demonstrated experience with weapons, or combat system certification processes and requirements, specifically self-certification criteria for elements of these systems.
  • Experience with FMS programs
  • Work onsite at NSWC Dahlgren
  • Requires a Secret Security clearance. Candidates must be US Citizens to obtain clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing support in the definition and maintenance of top-level system architectures and program requirements.
  • Experience providing technical support in the review, maintenance, generation, tracking, and distribution of system engineering documentation.
  • Experience providing system engineering support for the continuous evaluation and refinement of new and existing system level requirements and upgrades.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing Concept of Operations documents and Concept of Employment (CONEMP) documents for supported systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in technology refresh planning by furnishing program specific systems engineering expertise and knowledge of current commercial off the shelf (COTS) technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze emergent problems, updates, and enhancements to determine the impact on USW system requirements to include new and emergent technologies.
