About The Position

This Systems Development Engineer role focuses on supporting essential Leo shared software services and infrastructure across multiple business functions such a mechanical, printed circuit board, ASIC, and wiring. These functions require managing software services, lab environments, infrastructure both on-premise, including hyper-converged, and in AWS, and data all in support of satellite research and development. You'll design environments and manage both their physical and cloud infrastructure, which includes operating systems administration across Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows, used by the business critical design functions. The position requires hands-on management of server deployments, system maintenance, and infrastructure improvements while ensuring consistent uptime for engineering teams. Working directly with stakeholders, you'll gather requirements, plan improvements, and implement changes through formal change control processes. Success in this role demands strict adherence to change management procedures to maintain system stability, including proper documentation, stakeholder approval, and scheduled maintenance windows. You'll balance urgent system needs with controlled changes while maintaining both cloud and physical environments supporting satellite development operations.
