About The Position

The Data Integration & Automation Specialist is a highly technical, data-driven role focused on MS Access development (or similar tools), lightweight application design, automation, and advanced data analysis across multiple internal and third-party systems. This is not a traditional help desk position. While the role includes coordination of system access and technical enablement for employees, its primary purpose is to design, integrate, and optimize data workflows that support operational reporting, leadership visibility, and scalable growth. In this role, you will build and maintain MS Access databases and internal tools (or similar), develop ETL workflows, and extract, transform, and integrate data from a wide range of third-party applications — including practice management systems, clearinghouses, billing platforms, payer portals, and other external data sources. You will turn fragmented, raw data into structured, reliable datasets and reporting outputs that support informed decision-making. Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking, comfort working with imperfect data, and the ability to connect disparate systems through structured extraction, transformation, and automation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys improving data accuracy, reducing manual effort, and creating repeatable, scalable solutions that enhance both operational efficiency and the employee experience.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in technical support, IT operations, data systems, or a similar hybrid technical role.
  • Expert-level MS Excel skills (Power Query, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
  • Expert-level MS Access skills (relational database design, queries, forms, VBA code, reports).
  • Demonstrated experience building ETL workflows or automated data processes.
  • Experience designing repeatable, scalable data structures and workflows, not one-off solutions.
  • Ability to prepare and structure data to support business intelligence and executive reporting.
  • Strong understanding of data integrity, validation, documentation, and version control.
  • Sound judgment in evaluating automation tradeoffs to ensure solutions are sustainable.
  • Hands-on experience within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Excel, Access, SharePoint).
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities across remote access tools and workstations.
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-through and prioritization skills.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Exceptional communication — friendly, patient, and confident supporting non-technical users.
  • Experience working successfully in a remote, self-directed environment.
