About The Position

Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies. The Work C2BMC is a dynamic and exciting program in the Missile Defense and Space mission areas. C2BMC has had a long history of providing solutions to the Missile Defense Agency and continues to be contracted to provide new and innovative solutions to both of these missions. Candidate will be part of an integrated architecture & systems engineering team, on a multi-company teammate program, tasked with defining the operational, physical, functional, and technical architecture necessary to describe the vision and desired capabilities of an evolving C2BMC effort. Candidate will be part of the team that is architecting missile defense command and control and battle management systems in an environment that leverages existing or COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability in mind. Candidate will participate in analyzing high level needs and through a structured and logical approach. Candidate will be responsible for creating System Architecture solutions and concepts for a variety of new and emerging capabilities for the C2BMC system in collaboration with other Architects including lead Systems Architect, software architects, network architect, cyber architect. etc. Communicates and collaborates on System Architecture solutions with other teams such as software developers, networks engineers, cyber engineers, DevSecOps teams, infrastructure teams, test teams, and deployment teams. This includes both physical architecture as well as logical architectures across the System. Additionally. Candidate will interface with project leads, product owners, and MDA customer. Candidate will present architecture concepts to a large variety of audiences and serve as the focal point for the System Architecture for the Capability for the development, test and deployment efforts. Candidate will present at internal and external design reviews. Candidate may assist in documenting or reviewing architectures in a MBSE tool such as CAMEO. Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies and design methodologies, in the area of DoD Command and Control and COTS/FOSS information technology products. Requirements

  • A final secret clearance is required for consideration.
  • Systems Engineering/Architecture experience.
  • Experience in creating new System Architecture concepts and solutions.
  • Information Technology / Computer Science / Software / Network related work experience on an integrated team working with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions for a DoD Program.
  • C2BMC or similar complex DoD Command and Control (C2) System experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Experience producing tooling and products to assist the with the analysis or assessment of a system or project is desired preferably in java and python languages
  • Experience with DevOps related tooling (Jenkins, HTCondor, GitLab, etc) is desired
  • Experience with performing systems engineering for DoD Information Systems is desirable
  • Experience with creating and briefing chart packages for tooling or analysis performed
  • Test Experience is a desired skill, on a DoD Program.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to present technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers.
  • Experience as Technical Lead Systems Engineering SME or Systems Engineering technical leader in the Missile Defense, Space, or Link 16 Domain.
