About The Position

This role is a Systems and Infrastructure Engineer III. As a member of the Walmart Enterprise Directory Services Team, you will provide Active Directory Infrastructure support for all of Walmart. A successful candidate must be able to communicate and collaborate with any team within Walmart, provide forward thinking ideas for improvement, and help drive efforts to completion. Maintaining Domain Controllers throughout the Enterprise. Design, implement, and maintain monitoring systems for Active Directory, AD LDS, and ancillary supporting technologies. Support problem resolution to include addressing alerts and implementing corrective actions. Plan, organize and execute system benchmarks for threshold and functionality, and root cause analysis. Review ongoing and proposed projects to identify opportunities for reuse and process improvement. Participate in the team on-call rotation. About the team: The Enterprise Directory Services Core team is responsible for maintaining Walmart’s multiple Active Directory forests, ensuring core services like LDAP operate efficiently and securely. The team exemplifies operational excellence by keeping the Active Directory environment stable, well-maintained, and protected. It also provides consulting support to application teams, sharing best practices and resolving application-related issues. This team plays a critical role in sustaining the infrastructure that supports Walmart’s business operations, emphasizing reliability, security, and collaboration to meet organizational needs effectively. Design and implement solutions to help increase the security posture around Active Directory. Ensure security solutions aligns with industry standards such as NIST, PCI DSS, and DISA STIGs, as well as Walmart corporate policy. Assist with defining roadmaps for the future. This position will not be managing User, Groups, and Computer Objects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with large enterprise-scale Microsoft Active Directory Deployments
  • Automation and scripting (PowerShell, Batch Files, VB Script, etc.)
  • AD Topology and Replication
  • AD Access Control, Delegations, and RBAC
  • AD Troubleshooting
  • Group Policy Objects
  • Windows Server background
  • Windows OS support and troubleshooting
  • Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS)
  • Creating/Updating technical documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PKI concepts, Networking concepts, and SSO / Federation concepts is a plus.
  • Experience with coding in Python, C#, C, C++, Java, etc. is also a plus.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Certification in Security+, GISF, CISSP, CCSP, or GSEC
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related area
