Systems Analyst - SQL/3E

About The Position
Akerman LLP is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to support and enhance the firm’s financial systems with a strong focus on Elite 3E, SQL development, reporting, and data analysis. The Systems Analyst will partner closely with Finance and Accounting to deliver reliable, high-quality financial date and reporting solutions.
Requirements
- Advanced SQL Server / T‑SQL expertise with large financial datasets
- Hands‑on experience with Elite 3E (Aderant considered comparable)
- Strong understanding of law firm financial systems and accounting workflows
- SSRS reporting experience; Power BI preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot XML, validation, and integration issues
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years supporting financial systems, SQL development, or reporting
- Law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred
Nice To Haves
- Experience with C#, ASP.NET, or .NET Core
- Experience supporting internal web or desktop applications
- Familiarity with system integrations, APIs, and data exchange patterns
Responsibilities
- Financial Systems (Elite 3E):
- Provide advanced technical support for Elite 3E and integrated financial applications
- Analyze and resolve complex system, data, and integration issues
- Translate financial and accounting requirements into technical solutions
- Plan, test, and implement system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes
- Maintain system documentation, procedures, and technical specifications
- SQL, Reporting & Data Analysis:
- Design, develop, and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, views, and jobs
- Develop and maintain reports using SSRS (Power BI experience preferred)
- Support ad‑hoc reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis for Finance and firm leadership
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance
- Identify opportunities to improve data accessibility, automation, and reporting efficiency
- Applications & Integrations:
- Support and enhance internal financial applications
- Develop or modify .NET‑based tools and integrations to support financial workflows
- Assist with integrations using SQL, APIs, XML, and .NET technologies
