About The Position

The Systems Analyst I plans and configures low-complexity software systems to support the administrative function of the University under close supervision. This may include departmental and moderately critical applications. Assists in the development of processes. Creates workflows. Installs, configures, supports, and maintains integrations for vendor-supplied software systems. Works on a team and collaborates with specific departments, colleges, and customers around campus. Supports their needs, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and responding to their questions and concerns in a timely manner. The Systems Analyst I is responsible for supporting the computer labs of the Barefield College of Arts and Sciences by utilizing and maintaining management tools (JAMF, GSX, ASM) for macOS operating systems. Responsibilities include package creation and configuration, scripting, and minor diagnosing and repair of computer hardware issues. The Systems Analyst I will also provide knowledge and expertise to Barefield Arts and Sciences faculty and staff, and provide support/assistance on an as needed basis for both departmental and college-wide technology initiatives. The Systems Analyst I may also assist the Director of Systems and Technology Initiatives with strategic planning for Barefield Arts & Sciences technology initiatives. Some student worker supervision may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of IT experience
  • Must have valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies
  • Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions
  • Working knowledge of various operating systems (macOS, iPadOS, Windows etc.) and software deployment in a large environment
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and manage multiple tasks and projects with varying deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience with complex software installation, package creation, or scripting
  • Some experience with configuring and managing macOS and iPadOS
  • Experience with managing computers in a large environment
  • Higher education background
  • Proven experience managing macOS, iPadOS, and Windows
  • Prior experience with script creation and integration with JAMF and PDQ
