The Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of IT systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This role provides support, maintenance, and administration for the network and end users and remains on call for mission-critical events.

  • Install, configure, test, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user and local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, camera systems, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, presentation equipment, internet service providers, and other products.
  • Analyze and resolve complex software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs.
  • Perform analysis of network needs and contribute to design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
  • Establish and maintain network users, user environment, directories, and security.
  • Use backup technologies daily to ensure proper data protection of TZMI’s digital assets.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies.
  • Upgrade system by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.
  • Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed.
  • Effectively communicate and demonstrate interpersonal skills with all levels of employees in a clear and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate and adhere to TZMI’s workplace values.
  • Know and follow zoo policies and procedures, including emergency protocols.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and assigned training sessions.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings on occasion
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of TZMI employees, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, algebra, geometry, fractions, ratios, and decimals and apply them to practical situations.
  • Knowledgeable in DELL/EMC hardware & software including DELL Compellent; TCP/IP MPLS, DHCP, WINS, DNS, VLAN, VPN, LAN and WAN, etc.; Active Directory Domain Services and server operating systems; network hardware i.e. switches & access points; ConnectWise Control Client; Hyper-V virtualized environments; Office 365 administration; basic SQL administration; anti-virus solutions.
  • Certification in Network+, A+, MCSE preferred
