About The Position

CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities. The Systems Administrator job description includes ensuring the stable and secure operation of an organization's computer systems, networks, and software by managing servers, hardware, and operating systems, providing technical support, and performing maintenance tasks like software updates, data backups, and performance monitoring. Key duties involve installing and configuring software, resolving technical issues, managing user access, implementing security protocols, and often contributing to cloud computing and virtualization projects. CGI Federal is growing its high-performance team whose members share a passion for building high-quality, scalable, advanced IT solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced, outcome-driven mission. This position is located in USA VA Arlington, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly highly desired
  • Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, or other relevant operating systems.
  • Networking: Familiarity with LANs, WANs, and network security features.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud services like AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Security: Understanding of security protocols and best practices.
  • Hardware: Proficiency in working with physical hardware, such as servers.
  • Scripting: Knowledge of scripting and automation tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with teams and users.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and evolving IT environments.

Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance: Install, configure, update, and maintain operating systems, software, servers, and hardware.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to employees, diagnose and troubleshoot system faults, and resolve IT-related issues.
  • Security Management: Implement and manage security protocols, monitor for threats, and ensure the overall security of the IT infrastructure.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and optimize systems to ensure they run efficiently and effectively.
  • Data Management: Perform regular backups, implement disaster recovery plans, and manage data storage.
  • User Support: Manage user accounts and permissions, and ensure users have access to necessary systems and software.
  • Cloud and Virtualization: Manage and support cloud platforms and virtualized environments.
