About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Systems Administrator Professional for the Space Force Range Contract at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL. Essential Functions Perform Microsoft 2003/2008/2016 systems administrator duties for a complex virtual enclave computing environment Analyze, log, track and resolve complex software/hardware anomalies pertaining to networking connectivity, printers, servers, and applications to meet mission needs Coordinate hardware/software installations and upgrades to ensure work is properly performed in accordance with company/Space Force policy Coordinate and monitor troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning Recommend course of action and implement as approved Perform system backups and standard administrator duties Interface with all levels of Space Force, Department of Defense, Eastern Range customers and management Review system logs for vulnerability and optimization Conduct Information Assurance Assessments Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BS degree in an associated discipline, (Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with system administration and related Information Systems, Computer/Network Security
  • Experience troubleshooting problems in a large complex environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2016 systems administration and networking
  • Working Knowledge of Windows 2000, NT, XP, Win 7, Win 10 , and Win 11
  • Knowledge of the following: San technology - storage - switches - Fiber channel and iSCSI
  • Windows 2008/2016/2019 Active Directory administration
  • VMWare Data Center Virtualization technology
  • Red Hat Linux 5, 7 and its CLI
  • American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) files
  • Basic Cisco IOS commands
  • Experience with installing, configuring and troubleshooting O/S and server applications such as IIS, SharePoint, and MS SQL server, preferred
  • Unix system administration experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of data communications protocols (TCP/IP); principles and practices of security implementation in the areas of data communications and information systems; PKI, data encryption, and encryption equipment, Firewalls; Air Force, and Department of Defense security regulations, and perimeter protection, preferred
  • Familiar with Information Technology on the eastern range; networks, servers, PCs, network interfaces, security concerns and postures, preferred
  • DoD 8570 Certification (Security+ CE or CISSP or CASP), or ability to obtain and maintain certification within six months of employment
  • Some local travel may be required to meet critical operational schedules
  • The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends/holidays to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
