We are currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator that will be working onsite in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The Systems Administrator is required to have an active secret security clearance as they will be responsible for deploying and maintaining classified IT infrastructures. Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required day one.
  • Experience with security infrastructure products and capabilities.
  • Must have experience with Redhat servers and workstations.
  • Experience using VMware vCenter, vSphere, VDI (Horizon), and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Must be able to develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.
  • Experience with Linux architecture, deployment, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with infrastructure backup, restore, disaster recovery and business continuity products.
  • Experience with NAS and / or SAN storage capabilities
  • Experience with application installation and multi-server environment/deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Scanning using tools such as Nessus and SCAP
  • Familiarity with High Performance Computing ( HPC ) Environments
  • Experience with Enterprise Active Directory (AD) & LDAP
  • Familiarity with Databases including MariaDB, Oracle, and SQL
  • Experience dealing with Managed Anti-Virus (AV) solutions.
  • Scripting Experience (Bash, Python, Ansible) and Kickstart
  • Experience hardening systems using tools like SCAP and following STIGs.
  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Critical thinking – ability to solve technical problems independently and with collaborative teams.

Responsibilities

  • You will provide System Administration in a heterogeneous Redhat 7 & 8 Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Linux Server internals to include DNS, File sharing protocols, DHCP, AD integration via LDAP, file system structures and permissions.
  • Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
  • Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
  • Understanding of data backup uses and technologies.
  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
