Job Description: Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Linux Systems Administrator to support and maintain our Linux infrastructure. You will manage servers, virtual environments, networking, and provide technical support to internal users. No degree required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux system and network administration
  • Strong experience with NFS configuration and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with virtual machine platforms (VMware, KVM, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) and automation tools

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Xymon)
  • Experience with Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Puppet)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Manage and troubleshoot NFS servers and clients
  • Automate system tasks using shell scripting (Bash, Python) or tools like Ansible
  • Deploy, manage, and monitor virtual machines (VMware, KVM, etc.)
  • Configure and maintain network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs)
  • Monitor network performance, resolve connectivity issues, and implement firewall/security policies
  • Provide responsive technical support and clear communication to users and teams
  • Document procedures and create user guides
  • Apply system updates, security patches, and ensure compliance
  • Monitor logs and respond to security alerts
  • Manage backup solutions, ensure data integrity, and develop disaster recovery plans
