Markon is seeking a System Administrator Level 2 to support the Fort Meade Customer. This role will support the Customer by deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications and supporting infrastructure in a secure, mission-critical environment. This position will play a key role in maintaining Kubernetes-based platforms and ensuring high availability, performance, and operational reliability. Requirements

Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus 10 years of relevant experience,OR 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Hands-on experience with RKE2 and Kubernetes administration.
Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
Strong experience administering Unix/Linux systems.
Proficiency in Bash scripting.
Experience deploying and managing scalable infrastructure in mission-focused environments.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Deploy, manage, and scale applications and infrastructure supporting the DEFSMAC mission.
Administer and maintain RKE2/Kubernetes cluster environments.
Manage and support containerized applications using Docker.
Perform system administration tasks within Unix/Linux environments, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash.
Monitor system health, availability, and performance across containerized environments.
Troubleshoot infrastructure and application-level issues across compute, storage, and networking layers.
Support configuration management, system updates, and security compliance efforts.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support continuous integration and deployment workflows.
Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational support.
