Markon is seeking a System Administrator Level 2 to support the Fort Meade Customer. This role will support the Customer by deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications and supporting infrastructure in a secure, mission-critical environment. This position will play a key role in maintaining Kubernetes-based platforms and ensuring high availability, performance, and operational reliability. Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus 10 years of relevant experience,OR 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands-on experience with RKE2 and Kubernetes administration.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
  • Strong experience administering Unix/Linux systems.
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting.
  • Experience deploying and managing scalable infrastructure in mission-focused environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, manage, and scale applications and infrastructure supporting the DEFSMAC mission.
  • Administer and maintain RKE2/Kubernetes cluster environments.
  • Manage and support containerized applications using Docker.
  • Perform system administration tasks within Unix/Linux environments, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash.
  • Monitor system health, availability, and performance across containerized environments.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and application-level issues across compute, storage, and networking layers.
  • Support configuration management, system updates, and security compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support continuous integration and deployment workflows.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational support.
