About The Position

Without supervision, the Systems Administrator III installs, configures, and troubleshoots computer systems and associated assemblies, and provides help desk technical assistance and training to system users. This role involves supporting the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and analysis of data processing equipment, prioritizing work center organization, and performing advanced configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, analysis, and repair of Desktop and Server systems, Disaster Recovery Systems switches, networks, and video systems. The administrator participates in the design, installation, and administration of local systems using multiple protocols and various computer systems. Key responsibilities include writing detailed technical problem reports, assisting with root cause analysis, and recommending configuration and process changes. The position requires installing, upgrading, and administering operating systems and application software in multi-user client/server environments, using authorized software, and utilizing an IT service management system while ensuring Information Assurance requirements are met. Additionally, the Systems Administrator III provides Client System Administrator (CSA) duties for specific mission systems, maintains cross-platform inter-connectivity for network, authentication, E-mail, and Web services, and maintains advanced knowledge of operations procedures, leading their development. The role also encompasses scheduling and implementing software and firmware/hardware updates, ensuring technical support for system administrators and maintainers, providing technical support to systems upgrades and configuration changes, performing help desk and system administration tasks, and leading training and mentoring programs for subordinate personnel.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Top Secret/SCI US Government Clearance
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI SAP/SAR Security Clearance, as required
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent academic, military or technical training and 3 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination technical and military experience
  • Possess advanced system administration skills, knowledge, and technical competence in the management of workstations, information systems, networks to include both hardware and software
  • Must possess excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Must be self-directed and able to establish and meet project guidelines/timelines
  • Possess a general understanding and use of Microsoft Office Professional suite of software. (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Possess and maintain a DoD 8570.01-M IA Certification matched to assigned duties
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver’s license
