About The Position

SCCI is seeking a System Tester for manned aircraft projects within the Battle Management System (BMS) family of projects. The role involves planning, conducting, and reporting results of test and evaluation for systems and products within the BMS portfolio, with a specific focus on software testing. This includes developmental and system-level testing to ensure products are well-characterized and understood before delivery to the warfighter. The team performs testing both in the lab and in the field, continuously aiming to improve the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of test and evaluation to deliver high-quality products quickly. Travel to CONUS locations may be required for installation, integration, and testing, involving close collaboration with stakeholders, customers, flight personnel, and end users. The position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; Or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a weapon system application in lieu of degree
  • Three (3) years of full-time experience demonstrating the ability to design, implement and execute manual and automated test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testing
  • Two (2) years of full time experience with software intensive DoD weapon systems
  • Must be able to work extended hours during travel (up to 16 hours/day)
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements, as well as test execution
  • Demonstrated ability to perform verification and validation, performance and acceptance testing for the applications within the rapid development environment
  • Pass an FAA class 3 medical exam
  • Pass Hypobaric Chamber training
  • Support remote travel events
  • Walk flight line up to ~200 meters while carrying heavy equipment to get the platform
  • Lift up to 80 lbs in awkward angles/positions

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of testable requirements and project test strategies
  • Develop and document methodologies for weapon systems integration and verification
  • Conduct test evaluation of weapon control systems during development and prior to formal release both in the laboratory and in the field
  • Work with developers to troubleshoot issues found during testing and report results through documentation and tickets
  • Participate in the installation and assessment of the system conducted locally and remotely
  • Collaborate across technical teams through regularly scheduled milestone meetings
  • Manage tasking efficiently and meet deliverable timelines in a fast-paced environment
