About The Position

GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC seeks a remote System Integrator I – Scientific is responsible for integrating and validating software applications, tools, and services to create a cohesive and fully functional environment. The incumbent configures, tests, and software components deploy to ensure seamless interoperability within scientific or enterprise computing systems. This role emphasizes software integration, troubleshooting, and verification activities rather than new feature development. The System Integrator I - Scientific ensures all software modules and interfaces operate efficiently and reliably in real-world operational settings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific/technical discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in system integration, software deployment, or IT operations.
  • Hands-on experience in one of the following: FORTRAN, C, or C++ for application support, integration, or performance-focused development.
  • Working knowledge of Python for application support or automation.
  • Experience integrating enterprise or scientific applications in operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management, APIs, interfaces, and data flow between systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving software integration issues.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certificates ITIL, PMP, or related integration/project management certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with HPC, cloud platforms, or distributed computing environments.
  • Experience with container operations, preferably using Docker, and container orchestration using Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with software version control, orchestration tools, and release management.
  • Knowledge of scientific computing frameworks or enterprise business applications.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate scientific or enterprise applications into operational computing environments.
  • Modify configuration files, APIs, or interfaces to enable proper communication between systems.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, including data flow, compatibility, and versioning problems.
  • Support testing, validation, and documentation to ensure the successful deployment of integrated systems.
  • Coordinate with software developers, system administrators, testers, and stakeholders to resolve integration challenges.
  • Maintain accurate integration documentation, release notes, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor system performance post-integration and recommend adjustments to improve reliability and interoperability.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, integration tools, and best practices relevant to scientific or enterprise systems.
