About The Position

The Systems Integration Assistant Tech supports the installation, configuration, service, repair and maintenance of computer systems in both a standalone and client server environment, including Microsoft Windows service and other authorized information technology systems. Under the guidance of the System Integration Tech, they will operate and troubleshoot components in process control of the coffee processing facility. Primary Functions: Install, configure, service, repair and maintain hardware and software for network services, storage networking devices and servers.   Supports/Integrate multiple information systems in a networked environment, evaluate and resolve customer information system problems, effect required hardware upgrades and repair to maintain mission capability.  Supports/Install and configure wireless hubs, routers, camera equipment, switches, and various transmission media server hardware and software for efficient operation on the network. Understands, and uses appropriate tools to identify and resolve business and or technical problems, inventory software, and production software.  Applies metrics to monitor performance and measure key project criteria. Prepares system documentation. Establishes and maintains computer security, integrity and business continuity controls and documents.  Provides user training and support in MS Office Suite, Excel, Power point, and MS Word.  Stays current on emerging tools, techniques and technologies.  Determines by testing and visual inspection, the repairs, maintenance, replacements, etc., required to maintain operationally reliable, including periodic preventive maintenance to minimize and prevent costly downtime of the systems and processes. Reads operating and service manuals and instructions to learn the fundamental principles and operations of each control device and related equipment and their function in the control system; and applies this knowledge in the performance of his/her work. Supports the Installation and provides service for cable assemblies, conduits, switches, routers, WIFI, Network printers, programmable logic controllers, and other computer equipment including providing necessary technical support. Responds to trouble calls from the work order management and or Manager, by radio, pager, telephone or other means of communications and takes the appropriate action to correct the problem promptly. Works with the Maintenance Manager in the data entry of an inventory control program. Supports the Ordering of parts and maintains inventory control and manages cost of goods for the efficiencies of the company. Makes minor repairs and adjustments; reports computer issues requiring repairs. Keeps shop, computer equipment areas, and all work areas clean and maintains a safe work environment. Observes all safety regulations and reviews all SDS information pertaining to his/her work. Able to work as required in confined spaces, as well as in other locations that are noisy, dusty, poorly illuminated, or outdoors on equipment that is as much as 90 feet above the ground level.  Supports the Maintenance department with emerging requirements for upgrading and improving efficiencies.  Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
  • IT and network administration training, certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot ladder logic and related PLC programming languages.
  • Experience with coding/scripting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical service manuals, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools for identifying hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Experience with cable installation, terminations, and structured wiring standards.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance principles for IT and control systems.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices, SDS information, and safe work protocols in industrial settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, or utilities environment preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLC-controlled equipment, industrial sensors, and automation systems is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience supporting end users and providing technical help desk assistance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, especially under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley control logic is desirable.
