About The Position

Job Description Test responsibilities include conducting Thermal/Vacuum (TVAC) testing at the Space Simulation Lab (SSL) for Environmental Test Labs and Services (ETLS). Develop and implement test procedures through setup, execution, and tear down. Support Test Readiness Reviews. Ensure satisfaction of test requirements. Technical liaison between the test lab and program representatives and support organizations. Ensure all workmanship is in compliance with LMS Test Engineering Standard. Verify systems perform as expected. Troubleshoot any issues or anomalies. Interface with customers for requirements verification and procedure deviations. Lab responsibilities include coordination with SSL Technical Leads and Operations Lead to support ongoing critical test operations. Verify programming for data acquisition and test control/monitoring. Verify thermal/vacuum system configuration management. Design/develop Mechanical Ground Systems Equipment and auxiliary fixturing for test setup. Ensure implementation of clean zone and security measures as required. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering, OR equivalent education, AND 1 year of professional experience.
  • A relevant Master’s degree may be substituted for 1 year of professional experience.
  • Strong communication and procedural development skills.
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a high level clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Test Conductor certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a thermal cycle/TVAC test lab environment.
  • Experience with cryogenic systems or pressurized gas systems
  • Working knowledge or experience with CAD software
  • Current clearance
