About The Position

SFS systems design team is seeking a summer intern to develop and perform measurements and alignments on optical test benches to qualify subsystem level components and modules such as sensors, actuators, and light sources. The intern will then analyze the quantitative data to provide qualitative results and drive decisions. It is also desired for the intern to have the ability to model the expected results. The individual is expected to be highly motivated and able to work independently with guidance from senior engineers.

Requirements

  • Background in engineering or physics with experience in optics.
  • Candidate is currently in graduate level studies or undergrade with 2+ years of laboratory experience.
  • Hands on experience in laboratory environment.
  • Experience with laser systems, optical alignment, and detection systems.
  • Scripting experience with MATLAB, Python, etc.
