About The Position

GXM is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform systems engineering activities across the full system life cycle in support of Naval and Department of War programs. The selected candidate will apply established systems engineering processes to support concept development, design, integration, test, deployment, and sustainment of complex systems. The candidate will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and managing system-level requirements, interfaces, and technical baselines; performing system decomposition, trade studies, and impact assessments; and supporting system integration, verification, validation, and test activities. The role requires close collaboration with software, hardware, cybersecurity, and test teams to ensure end-to-end system performance. The Systems Engineer will support configuration management and change control processes, participate in technical reviews and working groups, and contribute to preparation of technical documentation such as system specifications, interface control documents, and design artifacts. The candidate will also provide systems engineering support to program management and customer stakeholders and assist in identifying technical risks and mitigation strategies. This position will be based out of Fredericksburg, VA with occasional travel to Dahlgren, VA.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Seven (7) or more years of professional experience performing systems engineering functions
  • Experience applying systems engineering processes and methodologies
  • Experience developing and managing system requirements and technical documentation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments

Nice To Haves

  • Prior military service or experience supporting Department of War or military operations
  • Experience supporting Naval or Department of War programs
  • Master’s degree in engineering discipline
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
  • Familiarity with systems integration, test, and verification activities
  • Knowledge of programming or scripting language used in test automation systems (JavaScript, Java, Python, etc.)
  • Ability to write SQL queries
  • Knowledge in web application UI models and how components interact via internet protocols (HTTP, SSL, Email, SOAP, XML, etc.)
  • Experience in accessibility and accessibility standards, such as Section 508 Compliance and WCAG 2.0 AA
  • INCOSE ASE/CSEP or similar systems engineering certification (preferred)
