Job Summary: As a System Design Engineer within the Effectors: System Design Department, you will interface with the customer to develop CONOPS, system architecture, system requirements and manage qualification, verification and validation. You will also perform functional / physical analysis, allocation, and trade studies. You will support engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle. Through Digital Transformation (DTx) you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development. This role is 100% on-site at our Tucson, AZ campus.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• Matlab and/or C++ experience
• This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• A cumulative GPA of 3.00
• Experience or coursework in System Design
• Modeling and Simulation experience
• Ability to analyze issues and define solutions

• Self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information and solve problems
• Proven strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities
• Basic Engineering skills and interest in how systems are developed and function

Responsibilities

• Requirements decomposition and lower tier requirements derivation for the system.
• Requirements development and maturation to include subsystem and component level. (through this you learn and communicate how the system is really going to function
• Develop system architectures that meet the system performance and interface requirements
• Perform trade studies on the best solutions to develop the system. (you determine the most efficient design that has the lowest cost)
• Establish verification and validation techniques for requirements at all indentureships of complex systems to include application of simulation, testing, analysis, and demonstration.
