About The Position

The System Director of Human Resources and Employee Health provides strategic leadership in planning, directing, organizing, and managing the human resources functions, as well as overseeing employee health, employee housing, physician and advanced practice compensation and recruitment. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources and Communications Officer (CHRCO), this role drives initiatives that align the organization’s people strategy with its mission, vision, and values. The System Director is responsible for cultivating a culture of excellence and compliance, ensuring that HR operations support organizational growth and regulatory mandates, and fostering a work environment that promotes high employee engagement and retention. The System Director partners closely with Senior Leadership on strategic planning, policy development, and operational improvement across multiple areas, including labor relations, employee relations, talent acquisition, and compensation. The System Director also leads the HR Business Partners to ensure alignment of human resources strategies with operational objectives across all departments. Additionally, this role oversees programs that support physician workforce stability and ensures effective management of employee housing and health services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Fifteen (15) years of progressive HR experience with at least five (5) years progressing within management to a high level or executive role.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices across functional areas.
  • Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse teams of professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with leaders, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to navigate and manage changes in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive organizational change.
  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all HR functions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR services across the healthcare system and multi-state workforce.
  • Builds collaborate partnerships with hospital and system leaders to drive organizational excellence in human resources and employee services.
  • Lead total rewards, the management and implementation of plans for benefits, compensation, to include provider.
  • Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies to ensure high quality candidates are identified and hired.
  • Direct provider recruitment efforts to attract and retain top medical talent, ensuring the staffing needs of the organization are met.
  • Provides leadership in labor and employee relations ensuring compliance with labor laws and fostering positive relationships between management and labor.
  • Oversee employee health services, ensuring the well-being and safety of all staff.
  • Develop initiatives to promote health and wellness, manage workplace injuries, and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Manage employee housing programs to support staff retention and recruitment.
  • Develop policies and oversee the allocation and maintenance of employee housing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to minimize risk and ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and alignment with organizational priorities.
